A dairy producer of some of the best-loved food brands in the UK wanted to ensure that any product that left their manufacturing facility was correctly packaged and marked with correct best before dates. A number of food and beverage companies have made this decision to minimise the risk of costly mistakes and ultimately to minimise the risk to human health.
Ai Automation designed and implemented an automated OCR inspection system to check that the best before dates were correct and that the correct labels were applied on the butter. This was then followed by a rejection system so that any packs which did not pass the inspection were removed from the production line automatically, without delaying production. Therefore, it will improve the production process and maintain the highest quality standards of the products.
As a result, our customer reduced the risk of delivering low-quality products by 90%.
