Industrial Connected Metrology
Independent Metrology & Measurement Solutions for UK Manufacturing
About
Industrial Connected Metrology is an independent metrology solutions and sourcing consultancy helping manufacturers solve measurement, inspection and quality-control challenges. We support customers across the wider metrology market. ICM does not manufacture or hold stock of equipment. We act as the customer’s independent metrology partner, helping them define, compare, source and implement solutions through specialist manufacturers, distributors, calibration laboratories and service providers. Our advisory and sourcing service is provided at no charge. We assess the application, define the requirement, identify suitable technologies and suppliers, arrange demonstrations or trials, compare proposals and provide an objective recommendation. Customers purchase any chosen equipment or service directly from the selected provider, with no obligation to proceed. We support CMMs; optical and vision systems; 3D scanners; portable measuring arms; laser trackers; profile projectors; height gauges; surface-finish, contour, form and roundness systems; measuring, inspection and video microscopes; industrial and digital borescopes; manual instruments; air, bore and thread gauging; bespoke gauges and fixtures; machine-tool probing; automated and robotic inspection; and in-process or integrated production measurement. We can also identify solutions and specialists for hardness and material testing, leak testing, force and torque measurement, temperature, pressure and electrical instrumentation, non-destructive testing and other inspection requirements. Support is available for equipment purchases, hire, subcontract measurement, first-article inspection, 3D scanning, reverse engineering, calibration, servicing, repairs, upgrades, software, training, fixtures and accessories. We can source probes, styli, granite tables, reference standards, lighting, lenses and other supporting equipment. ICM works with calibration partners offering comprehensive UKAS-accredited calibration services in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025. This covers dimensional, electrical, temperature, pressure, force, torque and other disciplines, subject to each laboratory’s accredited scope. We help review requirements, consolidate instruments or sites, coordinate calibration programmes and identify the appropriate accredited provider. Every recommendation considers the component, material, geometry, tolerances, production volume, inspection time, operating environment, measurement uncertainty, traceability, operator skills, software, automation, integration and budget. We support aerospace, automotive, medical, precision machining, R&D, general manufacturing and other quality-critical industries. Whether the requirement involves equipment, calibration, outsourced inspection or process improvement, MCS provides an independent route to the specialist support needed to deliver it.
